Intense Pulse Light Therapy (IPL), also known as Photofacial, is a non-invasive way to improve the color and complexion of your skin. It can correct visual damage caused by sun exposure. The Lumecca IPL, is the strongest and safest IPL on the market. The Lumecca delivers up to 3x more energy to improve vascular and pigmented lesions of the skin. Due to increased energy, this requires less treatment sessions than other IPL’s on the market.

Who is a Candidate for Lumecca (IPL)?

Lumecca treatment is for patients who are looking to address age spots, superficial vessels, unwanted browns, reds, or sun damaged areas of skin. Areas of treatment include face, neck, decolletage, legs, hands, and arms.

How Long Will IPL or Photofacials Take?

Lumecca treatments are sold in a package of 3 sessions. Each session will be done 3-4 weeks apart. Lumecca treatments are done in the office setting. No topical numbing is required. Treatments are performed by a medical provider and typically take around 20 minutes. During the treatments, patients will wear protective eyewear and will see a flash of light from the device. Patients feel a sensation that feels like a subtle rubber band snap on the skin.

What is Recovery Like After Lumecca Treatments?

Patients have little to no downtime after Lumecca treatments. Redness and warming of skin are common within the first couple of hours after treatment. Patients may also notice the pigmentation areas become darker for the first week, and then flake off skin after. Patients are to avoid direct sunlight and wear at least SPF 30 after treatments.

When Will Results be Noticable?

Most patients notice results from Lumecca after the first treatment session. Photographs will be taken before treatment, and after every session, so patients can see the results.
